Draft pending legal review

This document is an early draft written in plain language. It is being reviewed by qualified counsel and may change before Edukrish's public launch. We will notify registered users of material changes.

We collect only what we need to guide you, we never sell your data, and you can see, download, correct or delete it. For students under 18, the parent who gave consent can follow their progress; adult students choose what parents see.

Who we are

Edukrish (edukrish.com) is an education and career guidance platform. In this notice “we” means Edukrish. Contact for privacy questions: privacy@edukrish.com.

Our registered business details and Grievance Officer will be published here before public launch.

What we collect

Account details: name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and the role you choose (student, parent, counsellor).

For students: date of birth (to apply age and guardian-consent rules), education stage, board, stream, self-rated subject comfort, location, study preferences, budget band and your assessment answers.

If you use the optional discovery questionnaire: your answers to it and the personal summary created from it. A parent who answers the parent version about their child provides their own answers about the child, their hopes and their constraints.

For students under 18: your parent or guardian's name, email and relationship, and a record of their consent.

Early-access and contact forms: name, email, role and optional city, phone and message.

Security records: sign-in times, device/browser type and a hashed (non-reversible) form of your IP address, used to protect accounts and investigate misuse.

Why we use it

To create and secure your account, apply age-appropriate protections, generate your interests profile and explain career recommendations, save your shortlist and next steps, and respond to your requests.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not let paying partners influence the order of recommendations.

Recommendations are produced by transparent rules you can inspect. They are guidance, not decisions, and never a guarantee of admission, employment or income.

Children and guardian consent

Students under 18 can only use Edukrish after a parent or legal guardian reviews this notice and gives consent through a link we email to them. Until then the account stays locked.

Once a consenting parent or guardian creates an Edukrish parent account with the email address they consented from, they can view the student's study profile, interests and values results, career matches, shortlist (including the student's notes on it) and next steps, for as long as the student is under 18. They cannot change any of it, and they never see the student's individual questionnaire answers.

Students aged 18 and over choose what each linked parent can see, can change this at any time, and can unlink a parent.

Parents can add their own views on shortlisted careers, reply to approval requests and edit a shared family budget plan. The student can see everything a parent adds.

A guardian can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@edukrish.com; the account will then be locked and data handled as described under “Your rights”.

AI-assisted guidance (optional)

If you choose to turn it on, an AI service reads your study profile, interests and values results, career matches, shortlist and your discovery answers in order to ask you better follow-up questions and write a personal summary. It does not receive your email address, phone number, password or date of birth.

For students under 18 a parent or guardian must allow AI-assisted guidance first. You can use the standard questions instead, and you can switch AI off at any time in Settings.

The AI makes suggestions only — it never decides anything about you. Every point in a summary shows what it was based on, and suggestions are limited to careers and exams in our library. Details are in the AI-assisted guidance notice.

Who can see your data

You. Edukrish staff only when needed to support you, verify professionals or keep the service safe — and that access is logged.

Our service providers (for example hosting, email delivery and, if you turn on AI-assisted guidance, the AI provider) under contracts that limit their use of the data. The list of providers and where data is stored will be published before launch.

Linked parents and guardians, as described under “Children and guardian consent”.

Counsellors and institutions only with the student's consent (and guardian consent where required) for the specific purpose shown.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account we erase or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law or to prove consent (kept only as long as required).

Early-access sign-ups are kept for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

You can access, download, correct and delete your data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to exercise your rights. Write to privacy@edukrish.com; we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the relevant data protection authority (in India, the Data Protection Board of India).

Security

Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, database access is restricted per user by row-level security, and sensitive actions are audit-logged. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users and authorities of personal-data breaches as the law requires.

Cookies

We currently use only essential cookies: a secure session cookie to keep you signed in and a preference cookie for language. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add optional analytics we will ask first.
